The wait is over and National Cup, the best and most fun Race tournament in opinion of most players, is here. Actually it already started 2 days ago and we have already some great matches like the one between Estonia and Brazil where the later, with somewhat surprising with, showed it plans to go high.
The event itself has 24 national teams participating and this year, unlike the ones before, it will be played over the course of 20 days. Seeing as Germany will not take part, the defending champion – Poland is once again an overwhelming favorite to win it all. The other contenders, like in the years before, are Russia, Latvia, Estonia and now previously mentioned Brazil.
The tournament continues today with a match between Serbia and Belgium at 19:30 CET.
You can find schedule, results and other info under Race League -> Season 4 -> National cup.
Playoffs in DTR 2 brought new exciting moments. There was everything. Some players rage quit, some dominated like it was expected from them, some got eliminated seemingly before their time and some continued to defy the odds by going to the highs nobody thought possible.
It all culminated on August 4 with Final Four. In which, despite all the drama of previous rounds, there weren’t many surprises, not in the people who qualified for it, nor in their final standing. In the end, as many predicted, BurN came on top with 24 points where after the bad start in first few round we saw him mount and incredible run in the last 7 rounds, with just as may wins. Second, with 18 points, was D4vy, who tried and managed for the most part to keep up with BurN, but in the end he fell short. On the 3rd place, with 9 points each, finished Ferrari and GARIK08 who gave their best but it just wasn’t enough.
We would like to thank everybody who took part in this tournament, from map makers, players and even those who were just spectating. Without you this wouldn’t be possible.
And remember, National Cup starts this Sunday.
So yesterday the 2nd stage of the DTR tournament has ended . There have been defined the best 16 players of this tournament who will fight in the playoffs for a place in the final of four . Some groups were really tough and were interesting to watch . Or in other groups the results were already obvious and expected . We have been surprised again by good players who were favourite in winning the group with no problems , but who didn’t make it further . 4 outsiders made it to the playoffs , 3 from ARC and one from RFF , the remaining players being or were in the top clans of MTA : 2 FoXes , 5 SGAs , 2 LSRs , 1 SiK , 1 SKC +1 more
So after the main part of the MTA:SA race league has ended, 1 day later the DTR tournament took place. We have been proven in this stage that even 1 point can make a huge difference. Some groups were hard, some were easy, or some just did not have all the players, a problem which has been faced in the previous DTR too. We have heard a lot of positive feedback about the untrainable maps but also complaints about other players knowing the maps, so for stage 2, spectators will be forbidden. We have been surprised by a few outsiders who have done good and qualified in the 2nd stage, but also by good players who didn’t make it.
New week brought new exciting moments in MTA:SA Leagues. Another round has been played in DD League and now there are only two undefeated teams left: FoX and HW and like the case was in Race League with FoX and DoN they will meet each other in Round 5. The other team that was undefeated after Round 3 – STF, lost its match against uW. DDAS won its first match in the League versus LSR and the only team left without a win is SiK. Judging by the schedule of the nest Round it should be exciting one, make sure you tune in.
For the Race League last three Rounds have been played and Main Stage is over. DoN, who were undefeated after Round 4 suffered three straight loses at the hands of FoX, SiK and SGA, and finished on the 4th place. It all culminated on the last day of the Main Stage with a two CW’s. One, between uDka and LcP, was played for the 6th place and in a tight match uDka came on top and claimed the 6th place and made sure to avoid SGA in the 1/8 finals of the Playoffs. The other match, between FoX and SiK, was played for the 1st place. The match itself was very controversial due to some unexplained timeouts by the 4 of the best players in FoX. In the end FoX won by the slim margin of 6 points but because of some complaints from SiK about supposed “breaking of the rules”, on which I will not comment, it was arranged that match counts as a draw. That particular result doesn’t change the outcome in the least seeing as FoX is still 1st and SiK is 3rd .
You can see the final standing on the right. Playoffs will start in September and will be played by the Best versus Worst system. Until then there is Down the Road Tournament and National Cup to fill the void. You can read all about them here on the site.
Main part of MTA:SA Race League has not ended yet and we are bringing you information about players tournament called Down The Road 2! This tournament is sequel of previous successfull Down The Road tournament, which was organised by FuZ. This event is planned for the week between main stage of MTA:SA Race League and National Cup, so you do not have to be worried about loosing any of your favourites events. You find registration link inside of this news, the best player is going to win!
Another week is gone and another round of MTA:SA Leagues has been played, or, in case of Race League, two rounds. This round of DD league has been its most exciting yet. We had blowouts and we had some tight matches like the one between FoX and SGA where FoX prevailed by a final score of 13 – 11. There are 3 still undefeated teams in HW,STF and FoX and they will all have chance to keep it that way because none of them are meeting each other in Round 4. On the other side DDAS and SiK are still without win and they will look for their first in the next round, although they are facing some tough opposition in LSR and HW.
As mentioned before both Round 3 and 4 have been played in Season 4 of Race League and we are entering home stretch. Things are pretty clear right now. There are only 2 clans without a lost match left: FoX and DoN, and as schedule conveniently requires, like in all great stories, they will be meeting in the next round in a clash of undefeated teams. And then there will be one. Of course, SGA and SiK are lurking around the corner, just waiting for a barest slip from the top 2 teams so they can overtake them. There are also teams like uDka and GDS who still haven’t won and it doesn’t look much brighter in the future for them seeing as they face SKC and SGA in the next round.
That’s it for now. We’ll be back with more news next week. See you on the servers.
We are closely in half of the main stage of MTA:SA Race League and so that we are bringing info about National Cup, which will be there for the fourth time! National Cup will be played right after the DTR Tournament (we bring info soon), that means since 2nd week of August untill end of August. Map pack is same as for the main stage of MTA:SA Race League and the same stand for the system of matches. All matches will be 5v5 and each team choose 5 maps for each match. We prepared registration formular for teams and for players, who doesnt know if there is any national team from their country. System of tournament will be released after closing registration, what is going happen with last day of July. Read more for summary.
All important information about both Leagues has been mentioned in previous news so now we’re going to do just a quick update. Round 2 of both Leagues has ended today and things are shaping up. Some teams have won again, some have rebounded from loses in first round and some now have to loses in the row.
It’s now possible to single out the favorites and outsiders although it’s still too early for anything to be a surefire bet. We had more exciting matches in this round than in previous but, as before, mostly the favorites won. The only big surprise came from Race once again where SiK absolutely dominated SKC.
One more thing. Last time we forgot to let you know that RLS were unable to secure sufficient number of players before the start of the Race League and because of that decided to withdraw from it. Their place took GDS. If you have any other questions you can leave comment here or contact one of the organizers on Skype. See you on the servers.
It’s been a week since the start of first season of the MTA:SA DD League and Round 1 is finished. There were 5 matches and while not many of them were close, as you can see on the scoreboards on the right side they were mostly blowouts, they weren’t uninteresting and besides it’s just the Round 1, we’re just warming up. Some of the teams have put up their candidatures for high places at the end of the League with their performance in first matches, some have not done so well but there’s still time for revising strategies and some more strategies. It should get more exciting in next rounds where’s we will really see who’s who.
